Just like other years , this year 20 selected cities
competed for the title of Best European Destination
2015. This years winner was French city of Bordeaux.
Victor Igo once said about this city: „Bordeaux is an interesting,
original and probably the only one. Take Versailles,
mix it with Antwerp and will get Bordeaux."
Bordeaux is a port city in the south west and the ninth
largest city in French. It is always a dynamic and cosmopolitan, revealing new facets
and features. City nickname is La Belle Endormie or
Sleeping Beauty, because in the past
a large part of the center of the building was covered
with black paint, which arose
from large city
pollution.Today, you won`t face with it
and most of the buildings have been restored.
The
historical part of the city, which
is rich with its buildings
constructed in the 18th century, is in UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, the other
facet - modernism
- entice travelers to get to know French culture,
lifestyle, and of course, wine.

the books of the finest wines and its history, most frequently
mentioned name is Bordeaux. Unquestionably, this is the world`s largest wine
producing region. Certainly Bordeaux is a sophisticated destination
for gourmets and culture lovers. Bordeaux is recognized as one of France`s most elegant cities.
The next best destinations for holidays 2015 are - Lisbon, Athens, Valetta, Riga,
Zagreb, Ljubljana, Innsbruck, Milan, Brussels, Vienna, Rome, Barcelona,
Istanbul.
