Reasons Why to Travel

Traveling is no just the best way to spend free time, to inspire yourself and get adventures but also a thing in which it is really worth to invest – as an integral part of the life experience
A journey is life and life is a journey.
Travel guide Airteks.com offers several reasons why it would be worthwhile to travel around the world, for full article visit the site - 17 Reasons Why Travel is good for You
Here I`ll introduce you with those which in my opinion are the most meaningful:
1.Learn who you are – Traveling with all the challenges and opportunities, let’s you discover who you are in a way that only the road brings.
2.It will create meaningful relationships – People you meet while on the road usually become some of the most valued ones in your address book, giving you points on the map to visit later on. These folks give you a glimpse outside your hometown circle of friends, forcing you into new and refreshing perspectives on things.
3.It will develop skills you didn’t know you had – The satisfaction you get when reaching the top of the mountain, or crossing a gorge, or helping a villager clean up after a storm, or simply getting what you wanted at restaurant in rural China, these things all allow access to skill sets you didn’t know you had.
4.For education – Seeing the world provides a source of education absolutely impossible get in school, teaching you things like economy, politics, history, geography and sociology. While not an accredited institution, the school of travel is currently taking applications.
5.The challenge – Getting your daily Starbucks not nearly interesting enough for you? How about finding an address in downtown Tokyo. Travel is full of moment of joy and challenges. Overcoming the challenges will give you some of the greatest joys of all.
6.To prove to yourself you can – If you’re the kind of person to dream big, and simply by reading this website you’ve proven that you are, you’re probably also the kind to reach for new challenges. Finishing a trip gives you the satisfaction that you were able to accomplish what you set out to do. And to give you energy to set up the next challenge too.
7.The cool stories – Don’t fancy yourself a storyteller? If anyone says “why travel” at a party, you’ll be able to outline why with any one of the many travel stories you’ll come home with. Even if they seemed trivial when they happened, nostalgia will create a epic spin around getting your laundry done in Zanzibar.

These are certainly not all the reasons why it would be worthwhile to travel, but certainly the most important, which shows that traveling can develop ourselves, make our horizons wider and understanding of the world and cultural diversity. Similarly, the experience and the stories can be useful for friends, relatives acquaintances who would like to travel.

By traveling we learn more than any other way. Sometimes a day spent in foreign country brings more than ten years of living at home.

Lisboa - Next best European Destination

Lisboa is the capital city of Portugal and also the largest city in terms of population and territory. The interesting thing is that the historic city center (Baixa) is located on steep hills, so some streets are not suitable for vehicles and there run funiculars and lifts.

Between other European countries capitals, Lisbon is unique just because being a largest city at the same time is able to maintain a small town feeling. Lisbon`s unique architecture which is mixed with the colonial style, medieval, gothic, baroque and contemporary design, Alfama old quarter`s narrow streets, red roofs and much more – this is definitely not a city that can be run by traditional tourist ticks. This city has to be enjoyed. Wim Wender has even made a movie for this city – „Lisbon Story” (1994).

Knowers suggest 3 things that definitely have to be enjoyed in Lisbon:

1. Vinho Verde or green wine tasting, once it was the first Portuguese wine, which was sold on the European market;
2. To drive with 28th Tram, the feeling when it goes through the narrow hill streets and all the curves is worth experiencing;
3. Sunset from Sao Jorge castle hill, nowadays it has become a favorite viewpoint of one of the most romantic sunsets in Lisbon.

You can also enjoy nightlife in Lisbon, which continues till dawn. Experience calmer moments in Lisbon in the city’s parks, gardens, cafes and esplanades. Or simply enjoy the pure pleasure of being in Lisbon, through its gastronomy, luxury hotels, spas and shopping centers.

St. Patrick`s Day

March 17 is the day when all around the world, hundreds of people celebrate St. Patrick`s day. It`s believed that it was he who introduced Ireland with Christianity. Now around the world in honor of this saint noisy parades are organized.
There are a variety of legends about St. Patrick. For example it is told that he with a three-leaf clover`s help explained the concept of the Holy Trinity to people. „Just like three leaves can grow on one stalk, also God can be one in three persons”, - this phrase became a legend. That`s why the three-leaf clovers became as one of the St. Patrick`s days symbols. In Ireland, there is a tradition to pin clover a symbol of the cross, color of Catholicism as well „emerald” state`s color.
Traditionally, parade takes place on St. Patrick`s day. The streets are crowded with smiling people in extravagant costumes and brass orchestras and also the famous bagpipes. On this day the whole world becomes Ireland. Everywhere the Irish national music is played, Irish dances are danced. In this day everything is painted in green color, even beer and bread. On this day people are wearing green clothes, sipping the famous “Guinness” beer, listening to traditional Irish music and of course watch parade in honor of the saint who had an important role in implementation of Christianity in Ireland.

 Happy St.Patrick`s day!

Best European Destination - Bordeaux

Just like other years , this year 20 selected cities competed for the title of Best European Destination  2015. This years winner was French city of Bordeaux.
Victor Igo once said about this city: „Bordeaux is an interesting, original and probably the only one. Take Versailles, mix it with Antwerp and will get Bordeaux."

Bordeaux is a port city in the south west and the ninth largest city in French. It is always a dynamic and cosmopolitan, revealing new facets and features. City nickname is La Belle Endormie or Sleeping Beauty, because in the past a large part of the center of the building was covered with black paint, which arose from large city pollution.Today, you won`t face with it and most of the buildings have been restored.
The historical part of the city, which is rich with its buildings constructed in the 18th century, is in UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, the other facet - modernism - entice travelers to get to know French culture, lifestyle, and of course, wine.

In the books of the finest wines and its history, most frequently mentioned name is Bordeaux. Unquestionably, this is the world`s largest wine producing region. Certainly Bordeaux is a sophisticated destination for gourmets and culture lovers. Bordeaux is recognized as one of France`s most elegant cities.

The next best destinations for holidays 2015 are - Lisbon, Athens, Valetta, Riga, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Innsbruck, Milan, Brussels, Vienna, Rome, Barcelona, Istanbul.
